A Double mat over a print does three important things. A Double mat separates the print from the glass so that if there is any moisture that may accumulate on the inside of the glass, the moisture won’t touch the print. Second, a double mat provides visual distance between the art and frame. Third, it adds color to enhance the print.

All prints are mounted in a high quality, acid free, off-white textured mount ready for framing

This double matt Mounting is available on all prints if required.  The image will be printed with an additional white border and mounted.  This additional Mounting or Double backing is available for  additional cost price.

COLOR DISCLAIMER: Screen vs Print Colors

Although I employ state of the art computer color management to produce print colors that are near perfect reproductions of what I see on my monitors, this will not necessarily be your experience. Due to the relative inconsistencies of various display monitors plus variations in individual user’s monitor settings, calibrations, color printing settings, and lighting sources, the colors you see on your screen may not be a totally accurate reproduction of the actual prints. Because of this, I cannot guarantee that a print will be an exact match of the colors represented on this site. Always remember that the colors of screen images are intended as guides and should never be regarded as absolutely correct. That said, you can nevertheless rest assured that the colors of each physical print are an accurate and faithful representation of my original artistic inspiration and intent.

Please also note that, although every effort is made to photograph my items accurately and describe my products in detail, I cannot guarantee every computer monitor will accurately depict the actual color of the merchandise. Please contact me (email link) with any questions about the color or size of any item before purchasing

CARING FOR YOUR ARTS

We would start by pointing out that photographs are always dependent on environmental influences; their appearance and colour can change and fade. To ensure you keep enjoying our works of art, below you will find some suggestions on how you care after your prize artworks:

  1. You should not expose photographs, laminations or frames, either in part or in full, to direct sunlight.
  2. Do not hang them directly above heating appliances or expose them to a higher level of humidity than expected in a normal living room.
  3. Photographs, laminations and frames are therefore not suitable for external areas, cellars, bathrooms or kitchens.
  4. Laminations with UV protective film or acrylic glass and wooden frames are very sensitive to scratches and dirt and should therefore only be handled with gloves or equivalent protection.

WHAT DOES UV LIGHT DO TO YOUR PRINT?

UV light as we know causes sunburn when we expose ourselves and this is basically what is happening when printed images are exposed to light. The UV light fades different parts of the image overtime.

UV Filter or Glazing: This concept involves placing a filter known as glazing on or over the print to stop the UV light. There are two main types of filters used on framing photography:

Glass: There are a number of glass options when it comes to framing, with the most common being float glass or soda lime glass. Generally a lower cost option and is the industry standard for framing. Float glass will block about 40% of UV light which basically equates to blocking all of the UVB wavelength but not much pf the UVA wavelength. There are a number of better quality glass options and they come with an associated price but they can go up to the Tru Vue Museum Glass® which blocks 99% of ultraviolet light. Float glass is the standard unless higher quality is requested.
